Brandon stood in his bookshop, gazing at a pile of books in the middle of the floor. He held in his hands a collector's edition of Pet Sematary. He had never read it, but it was one of the many worlds he had to save. He tossed it into the pile and lit a match.
It was a pandemic that made the world kneel,

She pulled her bandana over her nose as she crouched low next to her father, Jehan Fay. Who, at one time, was once an accountant before the pandemic, before he held his dying wife in his arms. Hollie watched her father as he took a deep breath through his nose. If he found it appalling, Hollie couldn't tell. The Red Plague had changed him, hardened him even more after her sister, Christelle, had succumbed to the pandemic.
